Cool Tool

I found the coolest thing today … I don’t know about you, but I am always finding stuff on the web that I need/want to read, but sometimes I just don’t have time right at that moment to read it. This little browser add-on can help you remember those things so you can go back to them later when you have time and read them. The “I Need to Read This” button is easy to add to the toolbar of your browser, and then whenever you find one of those things that you want to remember to go back to later, all you have to do is click it. When you have time to read some of those things, simply click the button and then click on the “View my to-read list”. How cool is that?!

Pictures in your DeskNow Email

When you receive pictures in your email do they show up in the body of the message or as attachments? If they show up in the body of your message, you may have noticed that they are usually very large and sometimes it is impossible to see the entire picture. If you would prefer to have pictures come to you as attachments, you need to make the following changes in your preferences:

Click on “Preferences” in the upper left hand frame (in the list under your inbox)
In the list that appears in the right hand frame, choose “General”
Uncheck the box next to “Preview Image Attachments”

Subscription Option Now Available

Finally, I think I have it figured out If you click on the link to the right “Subscribe to this Blog” you can enter your email address and whenever I post a blog entry it will be delivered directly to your email. This is a great option for people who don’t want to, or can’t remember to check the actual blog page on a regular basis!

If you happen to be checking the blog today and wonder why things look different, and perhaps not so good, it’s ’cause I’m learning. Some people might call it playing, but really, I think it can be called learning. I’m trying to figure out how things work, how I can make adjustments and additions to the blog to make it even better! So, please, if you’re out there and you’ve stopped by to see what’s new, please pardon the way things look for a bit while I learn new things. Hopefully in just a little bit the blog will be “new and improved”.

Welcome to the new Technology Tidbits blog! This blog is the new electronic version of the Technology Tidbits newsletter you have been receiving for the past 6 years. Moving to this format will allow information to be passed along to you on a more regular basis, and in shorter doses. Please bear with me as I experiment with and learn this new technology. My ultimate goal is to have this deliver itself to your email when I post but I’m still trying to figure out how to do that, until then check back often to learn about new resources available to you and your students and to get those tidbits of information concerning the technology resources here at Montabella!
