We all know that fitness and nutrition are important and teaching kids to make healthy choices is as important as ever. Here are some websites you might find helpful in teaching our students how to measure their fitness, discover fun new physical activities and nutritious foods they may actually like to eat!

Kidnetic: published by the International Food Information Council. Site contains exercise ideas, games, recipes and other health related information.

Nutrition Explorations: published by the National Dairy Council. Site contains activites and games, information about the food pyramid, and information about healthy eating habits.

BAM! Body and Mind: published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Site features recipes, activities, quizzes and games.

Smart-Mouth: published by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Students can watch videos about saturated fat and its effects on their blood, find recipes, play games and more.

I will also be adding these links to our webpage … from the top menu bar, pick your building | Media Center | Subject Area Links | Health.
